Here's hoping that you are having a great Fall Season... September 2013 was one of my best month's as an artist with the release of a UN Postal Stamp featuring one of my paintings. The rest of the year is fairly light for me with only a few shows, details below. 2014 is already shaping up nicely with a solo in France (near Geneva) and planned return exhibitions in Denver, Northampton MA, and Provincetown.
THANK YOU for all your support over the years, I appreciate it! my best, Matt.
The United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) released six new postage stamps on Friday, 20 September 2013, focusing on the talents of artists with disabilities. The stamps were issued in conjunction with the United Nations High Level Meeting of the General Assembly on disability and development on 23 September in New York City.
I've created a webpage at stamps.sesow.com that has more background on the stamp program, how to order the stamps from the UN, as well as framed/signed stamps that I've made available directly from me.
COMMISSION YOUR OWN SESOW PAINTING:
I finally started to say "yes" to doing commissioned paintings about three years ago and the results/process has been satisfying. So now I'm "opening up" the offer to everyone, just in time for the holidays.
If you want me to consider doing a painting of your choosing, I am asking that people send their request (and pictures) to paintme@sesow.com
I'll take a look at what you sent and will reply within a day or two if I want to try to paint what you sent me (please feel free to list any of my icons or imagery that you might want me to include in your painting). When I'm done with the painting, i'll email you a picture of the results. You don't have to buy the painting if you don't like it, no pressure.
Prices for an 11"x14" painting on archival bristol paper is $120 (plus $5 for US shipping, $15 for outside the USA).
If you want me to try something larger (or smaller), on canvas, wood, skateboard, etc. please let me know and I can send you a quote for how much I would charge.
THE "DEFILED" PAINTINGS:
My artist wife (Dana Ellyn) and I have started to defile a selected set of each other's paintings. It is a collaboration in which we 'finish' the other person's painting, but are not allowed to pass the painting back and forth.
We maintain a website at defiled.danaellyn.com where you can check out the latest available paintings from the series.
DIA DE LOS MUERTOS at the ARLINGTON ARTS CENTER (Virginia):

My large canvas painting "Bug in Rug" will be one of the featured works of art going up for auction at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in DC as part of the 10th Annual Transformer auction.
